Day 9-Pet Peeves

I don’t really have that many pet peeves, but these are my top three.

  1. People walking ridiculously slowly on campus, either just because or because they’re texting. Look, I know I’m guilty of this too when I’m tired first thing in the morning or after a long day at the library, but I try to not hold up people. Especially on a small campus with lots of people running around it, if you are that annoying person walking slowly, it is not helpful to anyone. Your phone can also wait for those few minutes before class when you’re sitting in class bored.
  2. People leaving their stuff at library tables for an extended period of time, like a half an hour or longer. I understand if you have to grab a coffee from Mini Moes or need to run to the bathroom, but leaving for longer than that is just rude to other students. Especially on a small campus, where there isn’t a lot of study space if you’re going to be gone a while, please let other people who need to use the space use it.
  3. Aggressively talking or very loudly talking on the phone in a quiet area or one where everyone can overhear you. I understand that some phone calls are important, and you can’t avoid them, but sometimes you really need to take them outside. Especially when it’s on the quiet floor of the library or the middle of class, please take it outside instead of disrupting studying or class.

I probably have a few more pet peeves, but that’s it for my list today! What are your pet peeves?
